From the north, coming in on the A6 (Shap Road)
Turn left at Appleby Road (A685 signposted Tebay and Appleby)
Take first right into Sandylands Road
Turn right into Sandgate, just beyond the Spar shop.
From the south
Follow signs for Shap and Penrith (A6) as you come through the Kendal one-way system.
When you reach the mini roundabout by the County Hotel, take the left exit, go under the railway bridge then take the first right into Appleby Road (A685 signposted Tebay and Appleby)
Take first right into Sandylands Road
Turn right into Sandgate, just beyond the Spar shop.
From the Tebay direction (A685)
Pass Morrisons and the Queen Katherine School on the right, continue almost to the junction with the A6 (Shap Road), but turn left into Sandylands Road opposite the Duke of Cumberland car park.
Turn right into Sandgate, just beyond the Spar shop.
From the Sedbergh direction (A684)
Take the right turn onto Sandylands Road signposted to the town “avoiding low bridge”, continue through the estate past Sandgate School on the left. Turn left into Sandgate, the church is on the corner.
From the Windermere direction
Follow signs for Shap and Penrith (A6) until you reach the mini roundabout by the County Hotel.
Take the left exit, go under the railway bridge then take the first right into Appleby Road (signposted Tebay and Appleby)
Take first right into Sandylands Road
Turn right into Sandgate, just beyond the Spar shop.
